The house by the water

I’ve had these photos saved of Louis Vuitton’s recreation of Charlotte Perriand’s la maison au bord de l’eau. It was made last year for the Design Miami fair, which coincides with Art Basel. The beach house had only existed as a sketch and was temporarily built in beautiful detail, down to the beloved seashells Perriand liked to keep on her walls.


It seems like fashion brands collaborating with iconic architecture proved successful with that collaboration. This year for Art Basel it Bally, reconstructing an original 1944 prefab house by Jean Prouvé…

An outtake of Dempsey serving up some country club prep, but in the Christophe Lemaire way. This smartly shaped asymmetrical scarf gives you the look of sweater draped around your shoulders without the fuss. I love Dempsey because being the sweet free spirit she is, she wanted to tie it the way she would wear it, knotted around the neck. To each his own, I think it is great tied any way.

Quick study

A small lesson on the subtlety of tone on tone layering with the proper punctuation of a crisp white sneaker. Département Féminin always has the best styling and edit- the selection is never too overwhelming, it’s just right.
